    George B. Hawk is called to reward well known resident of New Marshfield died last evening.
    New Marshfield, O. March 12- George B. Hawk 47, who had been very critically ill for the past ten weeks died at his home here last evening about 4:30 o’clock. Death resulted from diabetes. The funeral services will be held at the local M.E. church on Friday morning at 10 o’clock. Burial will be made in the local cemetery. Rev. H.S. Willis will have charge of the services.
    Mr. Hawk was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hawk and was born near Athens. For seven years he was employed on the K & M railroad in his young manhood, and it was while on this road he received injuries from which he never fully recovered. Later he purchased the home farm where he lived for several years before going to Kansas where he remained for two years. He returned to and had since made his home in Athens county. He was a member of the Masonic fraternity, the Knights of Pythias and the order of the Eastern Star.
    Mr. Hawk leaves a wife, who was Isabel Rutherford, of Rutland and four brothers, W.J. Hawk, of The Plains, D.C. Hawk who is a probate judge of Harper county, Kansas, Dr. B.F. Hawk, of Harper county, Kansas, and H.C. Hawk , of Drewery, Missouri and one sister, Mrs. H.F. McCoy of LaPorte, Texas. Two brothers, L.C. Hawk and I.M. Hawk, preceded him in death.

    George Burdette Hawk, son of Wm. and Jane Hawk was born two miles north of Athens near Factory Church, July 15, 1866 and died at his home in New Marshfield, March 11, 1913, aged 46 years, 7 months and 76 days.
    The greater part of his life was spent in Athens County where he was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends.
    For seven years he served in the capacity of fireman and engine man for the K. & M. Railway Company. He was noted throughout the division for his thoroughness and efficiency. On Feb ?? 1903? (hard to read) he was united in marriage to Isabel Rutherford of Rutland. He was a most devoted husband whose first thought was to give comfort and please to his wife. Even when seriously ill and suffering intensely it was her welfare and hit his own which gave him concern.
    In 1891 he united with the M.E. church at The Plains. His savior was to him a very real friend and Helper and he truly sought to fulfill the command “Love thy neighbor as thyself.
    He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity, of the Knight of Pythias of the Order of the Eastern Star and of the Pythian Sister. He held these orders in high regard and was faithful to his obligations.
    He leaves a wife, and sister, Mrs. Fletcher McCoy, of LaPorte, Texas and four brothers, Dr. Benjamin F. and David C., of Kansas, Hadley C., of Missouri and Wm. J. of The Plains, besides many other relatives and friends who have the hope that they shall meet again. For -
