Facts and Events
William J. Flesher was found on the 1860 Warren Co, Ohio census living with the family of Warren Snyder. He was 14. I haven't found what the relationship might be. William's father died in 1852 but his mother was still alive in 1860. In 1864 William was an heir of his grandfather Alfred Scudder. Alfred named Susannah's children by Elias Flesher has his heirs and not his daughter, Susannah, probably as she had married again to Stephen Jackson, a man with many children of his own. So Afred protected his grandchildren's inheritance. William died in the Civil War. He served in the 17th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Info found in the book "Lest We Forget" Vol. I, pg 58; compiled by Mary M. Everhart for the WCGS, copyright 2002. The book is in the WCGS Records room, Warren Co, OH. The final settlement of his father, Elias' estate was made in Mar 26, 1868 at which time the guardian stated that William had died and that his share was divided between the other heirs. References
