William Dill, minister of Colmonell, to his father William Dill, banker and writer in Newton Stewart, who died 2nov1856, heir general and heir special in House and Ground on the east side of the street of Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire.
In 1841 William (b. 1793 outside Wigtownshire) lived with Elizabeth (b 1796, Wigtownshire) and 5 children and one servant at High St., Penninghame parish (i.e. Newton Stewart) (census). In 1851 William (b. 1793 Creebridge, Kirkcudbrightshire), was procurator for Wigtown- and Kirkcudbrightshire and agent for the National Bank of Scotland, High St., Penninghame and resident there, possibly with Elizabeth (b. 1795), and 2 servants (census).
