William H. Conklin, Jr. son of William and Eliza (Heltman) Conklin was born on 16 July 1860, in Richland County, Illinois. He married Mary Martha Delzell. Mary was born on 1 March 1860 in Richland (Mercer County), Illinois. By 1910 they had moved to Sterling (Logan County), Colorado. William was regarded as a pioneer of Sterling. Mary died on 29 January 1911. William died on 22 May 1935. They are buried in Logan County, Colorado. William later married Emma Burke of Sterling. Emma was the author of a history of Sterling. In 1954 she was living in Whittier California.
