Oliver Morris Conklin, son of William and Eliza (Heltman) Conklin was born on 3 December 1853 in Clermont County, Ohio. As a very young child he moved with his family to Richland County, Illinois where he married Laura (Allie) Welry (Welty) in 1875. In 1880 Oliver’s young brother William lived with this family in Richland County. Laura (Allie) was born in 1857 in Highland County, Ohio and died in 1927 in Sterling (Logan County), Colorado. Oliver died on 23 November 1929 and is buried in Logan County, Colorado.
