Member of the South Carolina Assembly as "Capt. William Cantey," in 1696, 1697, 1703, 1704. (Citing Charleston P.C., 1687-1710, p. 55.

Had 2 other daughters, names unknown. One married probably Joseph White, the other married probably James McCloglin.
