(Research):WHH Bowen's father supposedly fought in the Battle of Tippecanoe (7 Nov 1811) in Battle Ground, Indiana. That explains his name, as William Henry Harrison (future president of US), also fought there. There is a record of an Alexander Bowen who fought in that battle - this information can be found in 'A Pioneer History of Indiana' by William M Cockrum, p. 307 - published in 1907). However, so far there is no information that ties WHH Bowen with this Alexander, or anyone else for that matter.
The above was by way of a letter from Lillian Wedemeyer (now deceased), who chronicled a lot of Walker family history. There's a copy in my files.
