BLOOM FAMILY BOOK & WEB SITE

A distant cousin has asked me[2] to join him in writing a book about the Bloom family of Hunterdon County New Jersey and Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. We are descendants of William Bloom (1752-1828). My cousin is a descendant of William's son Abraham (1795-1874) the brother of my third great-grandfather James (1798-1866). In addition, we're planning a Bloom family web site in conjunction with the Bloom family history book with help from other contributors. The site will be a comprehensive repository on the Internet of genealogies, photographs, documents etc. for "all-things Bloom" with a beautiful design and a layout that is easily navigated. It's still a ways off, but lots to look forward to. Can't say much more about it at this time, but it's a heads-up on the future. Nothing will come even close to what you will find on this site regarding the Bloom family of Hunterdon County, NJ and Clearfield County, PA.

BLOOMFEST 2015 - FAMILY REUNION

For all descendants of Johann Peter Blum (1731-1814) and especially his son William Bloom (1752-1828), pioneer settler of Clearfield County, PA. Still in the planning stages the biggest Bloom Family Reunion ever will take place over a weekend during the summer of 2015 in and around Clearfield. Saturday August 1st is tentative and the location will be announced later.

The planned date has been set far enough in the future to make it possible for all those interested, from around the country, to have plenty of preparation time to attend. Many fun events at different locations are in the works and announcements will be made as they are finalized.

Please let all the Bloom family descendants know about this big family event. It'll be a great opportunity to meet together, to learn about and to share in our rich family history at Bloomfest 2015.

   "William Bloom, who was also a Revolutionary soldier, came to the mouth of Anderson Creek and built a cabin on what is now the Irvin Farm near Curwensville, presumably in the spring of 1801. He brought with him his sons, John and Benjamin, and his daughter, Elizabeth.......That summer after the cabin was built...Mr. Bloom went back to Nittany [in Centre County] in the fall to bring over the rest of the family..."
