- "William Bloom, who was also a Revolutionary soldier, came to the mouth of Anderson Creek and built a cabin on what is now the Irvin Farm near Curwensville, presumably in the spring of 1801. He brought with him his sons, John and Benjamin, and his daughter, Elizabeth.......That summer after the cabin was built...Mr. Bloom went back to Nittany [in Centre County] in the fall to bring over the rest of the family..."
