    "Fam. 2. William (Belden),1 (Richard*), b. abt. 1622, in Eng.; was, like his father, app. one of the Town's 'herders,' 1648; his wife's Christian name was Tomasin [Tamasine ( ?)]. He d. 27 Mch., 1655. Invent, taken 1 June, same yr. Value, £142-06-08.—Htfd. Co. Prob., II, 69. Savage says he rem. to Norwalk, which can hardly be, as his invent, is drawn by John Deming, Samuel Smith and Nath'l Dickinson, who subscribed themselves as being 'his townsmen.' In his will he requests the two latter friends, to act 'as supervisors,' and pathetically asks them 'to do what they can to advise and counsel my wife, and do the best they can to take care of my little ones, and to see my body honorably buried." His name is here spelled Beldin."
