The father of Willem Hermensen van Borckeloo (or Barkelo) was Harman Janse (van Barkelo), who married Willemtje Eldringh and d. prior to 1672. (See ESKC, p. 21). This Harman emigrated with his brother Willem Janse in 1662 or earlier from Borculo, a community near Zutphen, in the province of Gelderland, Holland. He bought a house and lot in New Utrecht on Feb. 17, 1667. Willem Hermensen is not listed by ESKC among the children of Harman Janse (van Barkalo), however.
