My nickname for Grandpa was BaBa Was known to everyone else as "Charley". Many coming from the OldCountry were known as Charley or William. I remember that Wasyl (Grandpa) had the largest hands I have ever seen.He seemed so tall, but records say about 5'11". I think he was tallerthan that (Raymond was 6')

I only remember him with snow white hair. Every Sunday he would dress ina white shirt and tie, Otherwise he always seemed to be wearing blueshirts and black pants. I remember watching him shave with a straightrazor (many of which I have) down in the basement of 81 Talmadge St.where he had his mirror and leather strap to sharpen the razor.

Grandpa was such a memorable man. He used to take me to the Moose Club.I have a pin from there that Aunt Dena had made into a charm. When Ivisited, he would take me down the street at 4:00 PM to the local pub.He would have 1 beer and I would have a soda. Then we would turn aroundand walk back to the store and have dinner with Minnie (Grandma Humenick)

I remember him carrying 3 cases of large glass soda bottles upstairs atone time. First lived in Mahanoy City on 1119 Pine St. with his cousen Metro. After coming to Poughkeepsie, He worked in a Cigar factory off Main St.near Cherry St., he then worked for Collingwood & Seaman, deliveringcoal. He carried 60lb. bags on his back to the coal shoots of houses.
