I called Grandma "Minnie"

She married at 16 years of age. Beforeshe opened her grocery store on Talmadge St., She worked as awaitress at the Poughkepsie Railroad Station. She also worked atWoodCliff Park, selling tickets for the roller coaster - Now MaristCollege, the Lowell Thomas/Dyson side of Campus.

Grandma got the nickname "Store Lady" by Alexandria Bush. She lived downthe street. I remember her so well, she was such a wonderful women,short with white hair.

Grandma only had a 5th grade education, but she would lis the prices ofitems on a brown paper bag and add them up so quickly. I couldn't evenkeep up with her. She never made a amistake
