Wanda Simmons
JASPER, Mo. - Wanda L. Simmons, 77,404 S. Main, Jasper, died at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 1996, at McCune Brooks Hospital, Carthage, after a short illness.
Ms. Simmons was born March 26, 1919, in Lawrence County. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a hairdresser for 42 years. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Jasper.
Survivors include two sons, Darrell Simmons, Benicia, Calif, and Kent Simmons, Jasper; two sisters, Annie Simmons, Liberal, and Ophelia Soos, Carthage; four grandchildren; and a great- grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper. The Rev. Tim Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood-Kistler Cemetery, Golden City.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Fitchpatrick, Carl Beerly, Arly Huffinan, Leland Still, Jerry Weldy, and Leonard Quade.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Jasper Senior Citizens, in care of the funeral home.
