Laura Quade Jung
Funeral services were held at 1:30 at Ulmers Funeral Home for Mrs. L. Q. Jung, 49, who passed away last Wednesday at McCune Brooks Hospital.
Mrs. Jung suffered a fractured vertebrae in a fall at her home in Carthage, one week prior to her death. She was admitted to the hospital and believed to be recovering satisfactorily.
She was born February 12, 1907 on Lawrence County. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Quade came to Jasper County and settled on a farm southwest of Jasper.
She and her husband, Frank Jung, made their home on a farm near Stotts City. He died in 1946. Mrs. Jung formerly made her home in Jasper.
Surviving are five sisters, Wanda Simmons of Jasper, Anna Simmons of Liberal, Mrs. Ophelia Baker of Route 1, Carthage, Mrs. Edith Beerly and Mrs. Lena Fitchpatrick both of Golden City, and one brother Ben Quade, Route 3, Carthage. The Rev. Thomas Stevens officiated.
Pallbearers were Aaron Ram Sayer, Worth Dudgeon, Price Weeks, Raymound Whaley, Lawrence Kleeman and Gus Rathman.
Burial was in Zion Cemetery near Stotts City under the direction of Ulmer's.
