According to correspondence on the Stoops Mailing List, Walter Stoops was the son of John Stoops and Ellen Amanda Shankland; and married 'Lou'.  According to "Descendants of William Shankland", Walter married Louisa Wallingford (abt 1858-abt 1915) abt 1876.
  In the 1880 census for Sharpsburg, Bath Co., Kentucky, Walter 'Stoope' is 27, born Kentucky (parents Kentucky).  His wife Lucinda D. is 21, born Kentucky, parents same.  Their son is Clarance, age 2, and they also have a cook, a black woman age 18 named Aggie Jones. {p253a}
 In the 1900 census for Umatilla, Lake Co., Florida, Walter Stoops is 45, born Oct 1854 in Kentucky (father Pennsylvania, mother Kentucky), married 24 years; farmer; with wife Lou D. 41, b. Sept 1858 in Kentucky (parents same), with 2 of 2 children living. The children are Clarence L. 22 born Nov 1879, single, 'merchant general merchandise'; and Amanda B. 15, b. Feb 1885 -- both born Kentucky, parents same. {ed 71, sh ?b, p. 245}
 In 1910 in Umatilla, Lake Co., Florida, Walter E. Stoops is 56, orange grower from Kentucky, with Lou D. 51; and in 1920 he is listed with a Catherine 55 KY.
 I believe he is the Walter E. Stoops buried in the Glendale Cemetery, Umatilla, Lake Co., Florida.  His wife Lou D. (1858-1915) and son Clarence L. (1877-1935) are also buried there.
