    Janesville - Walter W. Holliday, age 91, of Cedar Crest, 1700 S. River Rd., died Sun., July 24, 1988 at Mercy Hospital. He was born at Beloit, WI on Oct. 20, 1896, the son of Guy and Eva Holliday. He was married to Ruby E. Maas on Aug. 15, 1929. Rev. Holliday served in the Navy in World War I and then entered the ministry of the Methodist Church in 1930 while attending Garrett Biblical Institute. He served parishes in Orfordville, Montello, Princeton-Green Lake, Hebron, Randolph, Elkhorn, Antigo and Edgerton until his retirement in June 1962. He then moved to Janesville where he was called upon to serve as Administrator of Cedar Crest Retirement Home. He and his wife, Ruby, administered the home for 3 1/2 years and remained as permanent residents to the present time.
    He is survived by his wife, Ruby; a son, Roger (Janice) of Palo Alto, CA; a daughter, Charlene (Pattu) Durairaj of Rockville, MD; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Mrs. Esther Rasmussen, Mrs. Evalyn Millard, Mrs. Gladys Tiffany and Mrs. Ruth Mansur all of Janesville and Mrs. Helen Saunders of Minneapolis, MN; 1 brother, Rev. Ralph Holliday of Waupaca, WI.
    Memorial services will be Wed., July 27, at 3:00 p.m. at Cargill United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Crest Endowment Fund. Family will be available for visitation after the service.
