    WALKER CONWAY ... of "Levelfield," Lancaster Co., Va., b. - ; drowned cir. 1786 in Potomac R. near Dipple Par. ; m. -, 1775, ANNE MONCURE, b. Oct. 17, 1748 ; B. by Rev. James Scott, Dec. 2, 1748, spons. Rev. James Scott and George Mason, Esq., Mary Mason and Cecelia Brown (O.R.), daughter of Rev. John and Frances (Brown) Moncure (MONCURE 1).

    Mr. C. was a minor when his father died. His mother was his guardian 1757, and Travers Downman, Dec. 1767. He lived until 1786 on land in North'd Co., which he inherited from his gr. father Samuel Heath. This land he sold May 9, 1786, to John Hull and Joseph Conway, and resided at his Lancaster estate of "Levelfield." On the watch of Mr. C., found on his person when he drowned, the Conway "Arms" were engraved. This watch Mr. Eustace, guard, for his children, sold, it being "out of order." (R.M.C.)
    Walker Conway gave bond Dec. 17, 1785, to John Hull, both of St. Stephen's Par., North'd Co., for tract of land which W.C. inherited from Richard Spann. Wit. Edwin and Joseph Conway. (North'd Co. rec.) W.C gave similar bond same day, to Joseph Conway; Apr. 24, 1786, he gave deed to J.C. of North'd Co. for land "being one moity of that land whereon the said W.C. lately resided." ...
