Waddy served in General Wade Hampton's Confederate Legion during the Civil War. They had 4 children, Robert T.--b. Feb. 14, 1862-d. Dec. 9, 1950 an attorney & historian at Walhalla, SC. He tried a case before the Supreme Court in 1910 and served as a "colonel" on the staff of Governor Heyward., Charles G.--b.d1864-d.Jan. 19, 1941 owned a mercantile store in Walhalla SC, one child, Charles Jr. lives in Orangebug, SC, William B.--b.1866-d. aft.1948 lived in Washington, DC, and Frances L.--b. 1869-d.Nov. 1948, she married John Andrew White a Methodist minister, and moved to Columbia, SC they had 5 children. Waddy Thompson Janes is buried in Richland, South Carolina Cemetery.
