Obit- Orillia Packet & Times- April 1982- VIOLA CATHERINE (McDonnell) WALSH- Rev. Father J.S.Murphy and Father James Hayes officiated at the recent funeral in the Church of the Guardian Angels Church for Viola Catherine Walsh. Pall bears were Mark Anderson, Jim Derochie, Peter Derochie, Steven Walsh, Martin Walsh, & Elmer Kennedy, all grandsons. Mrs. Walsh died April 17, 1982 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital. She was 83. Born Feb. 2, 1899, at Black River, she was the daughter of the late Moses McDonnell and Annie Duffy. On June 20, 1922 , she married Frank Walsh in Uptergrove. Mrs. Walsh lived in Warminster for 38 years, where she was a member of the CWL of the Sacred Heart Church. When she moved to Orillia, 22 years ago, she joined the CWL at the Church of the Gaurdian Angels. Mrs Walsh is survived by her husband, sons Bernard and Morris of Orillia,- daughters Helen ( Mrs. William Anderson) of Oakville and Rosella ( Mrs. Harold Derochie) of Orillia, -sisters Rena Mingo and Myrtle Kennedy of Orillia, brother Bartley McDonnell of Michigan. She was predeased by a son, Stanley, brothers Frank, Moses, Joseph, Whitney, Stafford, and sisters Agnes & Hazel. Burial at St. Michael's Cemetery, Orillia.
