Possible clue to Arthur Browder's wife: Arthur Browder & Mary Isham Randolph Posted by: John Mark Browder Date: August 20, 2001 at 18:24:51 of 1135 Hello: I have been conducting family genealogy research for many years, since the early 1980s. I have run across a tantilizing possibility many years ago and hope someone can help me solidify the connection which I truly believe exists. It is well known that Mary Isham Randolph (b. c. 1718) eloped with someone whom the Randolph family did not approve of (she being a descendant of the Isham family through Henry Isham & Katherine Banks). This union, if it can be called that, did not last long. Mary's brothers are said to have killed the man she eloped with and their child although I personally believe they did neither. But, I have so far been unable to firmly establish the connection between Mary and Arthur although a good deal of circumstantial evidence would support this theory. So I need to know if there is any evidence which I have yet to uncover which might connect them more firmly. I would appreciate the help of anyone interested in this possibility. Thanks, JMBrowder __________________ To save time and effort for anyone visiting this page, the gentleman Mary eloped with mentioned in the comment by JMBrowder, was Enoch Arden. So nothing to do with Arthur Browder. Rufus T.B. |
