[edit] Advisory on Identity of Arthur Browder's WifeSome researchers believe that the wife of Arthur and mother of his son Isham may have been Mary Isham Randolph, but there do not appear to be any records to prove this. In addition, it is problematic, because during the time of Isham Browder's birth, abt. 1738, Mary Isham Randolph appears to have been married to Rev. James Keith, and was having children with him, making it highly unlikely that she was the mother of Isham Browder and of Keith's children simultaneously. More research is necessary to prove who the mother of Isham Browder was. [edit] Noteshttp://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/n/o/r/Sara-C-Norris/GENE2-0001.html
Generation No. 1
Arthur Browder was born in 1715, not 1718, in Prince George, VA, the son of John and Elizabeth Browder. Arthur died about 1739. He and Mary Isham Randolph were married after eloping in 1732. The only known issue is Isham. Isham Browder was born in 1732, not 1738, in Dinwiddie, VA. He is NOT the one who married his cousin, Martha Browder, daughter of Richard Browder and Mary Thompson. This Isham Browder married Talitha Cox. It was their son, Isham Browder (c1774-1832) who married his cousin, Martha Browder. I am a descendant and there is ample documentation on this in court records. Richard Browder, Martha's father, is the son of John Browder b.c1686 and wife Elizabeth. Isham Browder and his wife, Martha, resided in Rockingham County, NC and had two children who lived to adulthood - Isham Richard Browder (c1800-1885, d. in McNairy County, TN) and Mary "Polly" Browder (c1797-c1844, d. in Mississippi), who married William J. Meador in Rockingham County, NC before they moved to Mississippi. Isham Browder (1762-1830), who died in Kentucky, is NOT a descendant of this line at all. [edit] CitationsReferences
