Born in Osterslov Sweden lived on farm called Karlsholm. He was the youngest of 5 children with an older sister (Bengta), and brother (Anders) who immigrated to America. At age 23, left Swedish port of Goteborg on Ship Rollo to America. Inga Carlsson was also on this ship. Landed in Red Wing, MN and married in Nov. 1971. Moved to Vasa - not known where resided here. Anna, Mathilda and Charles were born here and stayed about 7 years. Moved to Red River Valley about 1877 for 160 arces of homestead property. They staked their claim on Lake Traverse, Walls, Windsor Twp. in 1878. Lived on farm until 1906 after the death of Inga he made his home with daughter Amanda & Martin Isaackson. He spent his winters with his son in Cottage Grove, Oregon. Stayed in Wheaton until his death but not known where burial is. He died in Mpls. (Tilla’s home) while visiting his daughters.
