Record gives date of birth. 1836 - Listed in White's Directory as a farmer in North Lopham. 1836-37 - Paid rent of £16 0s 0d - extracted example from North Lopham Churchwardens' Book. (NRO PD 338/13) 1841 - Living with his 2nd wife, Sarah, and two children in Little Common, North Lopham. Farmer, aged 48. 1850 - His father's will, dated 1850, bequeaths Thomas a house, barn, stable, yards, garden, orchard and various land in North Lopham and Garboldisham. He was to have a fifth share of the residuary estate, and William's wearing apparel was to be divided equally between the three sons. 1851 - With wife and two unmarried children, in Little Common, North Lopham. Farmer of 137 acres with 6 labourers. 1853 - Named as one of three administrators (with brother William, and William WHARTON) for the estate of his spinster sister, Ann WOMACK. 1856 - Appointed one of two executors of the will of his uncle, William WOMACK. (An unknown Henry SAUNDERS of Palgrave, farmer, was the other executor.) Described as Thomas WOMACK the younger of North Lopham, farmer. 1856 - Paid rent of £22 0s 0d - extracted example from North Lopham Churchwardens' Book. (NRO PD 338/13) 1861 - Living on Little Common, North Lopham. Recorded as married but no wife included in household, only unmarried son and a servant. Farmer. 1863 - Listed in Harrod's Directory as a farmer in North Lopham. 1866 - Described in probate calendar entry as "Thomas Womack the elder late of North Lopham, gentleman". Probate granted on 2 February 1866 to Thomas WOMACK of North Lopham, farmer the son, and Henry SAUNDERS of Burston, farmer. |
