Thomas Rowley Sr. was known as “The Bard of the Green Mountains”. Extracts of his poems and a sketch of him appear in Hemenway’s Vermont Gazetteer, and more recently at Wikipedia.
Thomas was a friend of Ethan Allen and acted as his spokesman.

The photograph of this monument does not mention a wife Eunice. It is not clear what is the basis of the statement that this Thomas Rowley had a second wife named EuniceCitation needed.]
