Thomas Rowley Sr. was known as “The Bard of the Green Mountains”. Extracts of his poems and a sketch of him appear in Hemenway’s Vermont Gazetteer, and more recently at Wikipedia.

Thomas was a friend of Ethan Allen and acted as his spokesman.
