Facts and Events
Thomas lived on the homestead, in the same locality where his grandparents settled a century earlier, and called "Birchard's Plain." Near by is the Plains Cemetery where the earlier Pembers were buried; some Pembers acted as Sexton for many years. The Estate of Thomas came to Probate Nov. 10, 1827. Oliver Johnson and Comford Filmore were appraisers. An old Bible which belonged to Lucius has a note that Rev. Dr. Nott was able to preach in 1848, at the age of 94; he had officiated at funerals of five generations of Pembers. |
