BIOGRAPHY: John Pember The History of the Pember Family In America Copyright 1939 by Celeste Pember Hazen Page 155 Ct. Probate Rec. Oct. 3, 1831, Willard G. Pember and Comfort D. Filmore were appointed guardians of Theodosia Pember of Franklin, dau. of Thomas Pember, dec.d, a minor of the age of eight years. In 1839, they sold her real estate, being the 1/6 part undivided of the 55 acres and house of Thomas Pember, Dec.d, to Willard G. Pember for $112., being less than value appraised. Presumably that was the date of her marriage or emigration, as he required her portion before 18 years of age. The Knights went to Illinois with Leonard T. Pember and wife, and were in touch with them later, for Cleveland cousins recall seeing Theodosia in Elgin with Mrs. Eunice Pember and her daughter Fannie about 1890.
