(Research):Before a recent trip to London, I was looking up tourist information on the internet, and I found the following information on a Noble on the London Transportation site.

While excavating around London Bridge for an extension of London's underground system, some medieval buildings were uncovered. The Noble information was found under the section titled "Southwark Inns." Apparently during the Medieval and Post-medieval periods Borough High Street was flanked by Inns and Taverns as well as the tenements where ordinary people lived. The article said that during the excavation for the Northern Line ticket hall, the cellars and foundations of some of these Medieval and Post-medieval inns were uncovered. One of the foundations found is thought to be the Bulls Head Tavern whose landlord in 1547 was Robert Nobell.

While actually on my trip, I visited an exhibit at the Goldsmiths' Hall. In the vicinity of the hall was a street named Noble. I purchased a book at the Guildhall Library that gave a bit of history about the naming of some of the London Streets. It said that Thomas le Noble's name appears in the Calendar of Coroners of London in 1322. The street was named for him. He was the owner of the property in 1322
