A transcription of his will:

This is the last Will and Testament of Thomas Hall of the Town of Newtown in the County of Montgomery Tanner made duly published and Declared this 11th Day of February In the thirty second year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth and in the year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Ninety two I give devise and bequeath unto David Hamer of the parish of Llandinam in the said County of Montgomery Farmer and Thomas Hall of the parish of Llanllwchaiarn in the same County Shoemaker All that Messuage or Tenement called or known by the name of the Black Boy together with the Stables gardens and all other the Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in the Town of Newtown in the County of Montgomery aforesaid now in the Tenure and occupation of David Humphreys his Undertenants or Assigns Also all that Malthouse with the appurtenances now in the Tenure or occupation of George Meddins his Undertenants or Assigns Also all that Dwelling house Stable yard and Garden thereunto belonging with the appurtenances commonly called and known by the name of the Boot situate in Newtown aforesaid and now in the occupation of the said George Meddins his undertenants or Assigns To have and to hold the said Messuage or the premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said David Hamer and Thomas Hall and their Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of them the said David Hamer and Thomas hall and their Heirs upon the Trusts and under and subject to the powers provisoes and Limitations herein after declared of and concerning the same (that is to say) to the Intent and purpose that my wife Elizabeth Hall may have receive and take annually from the Time of my Decease for and during her natural life one Annuity or Yearly Rent charge or Ten pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain in lieu satisfaction and bar of all dower and thirds that she by be entitled unto out of any of my Real or personal Estates the same to be issuing and going out of and charged upon the same premises and to be paid by equal half yearly payments that is to say on Michaelmass and Lady Day in every Year without any deduction or abatement thereoutfor or by Reason of any Taxes charges or Impositions imposed or to be imposed by Authority of Parliament or otherwise howsoever and if the same or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by the space of Twenty Days next after any of the said feasts of Days of payment in the year on which the said ought to be paid as aforesaid being lawfully demanded from the person or persons who shall be entitled to the said Messuages or Tenements Stables Gardens Malthouse and Premises with the appurtenances as aforesaid that then and so often it shall and may be Lawfull to and for the said Elizabeth during her life as aforesaid into and upon the same Messuage Tenements Stables gardens Malthouse and all other the premises with the Appurtenances as aforesaid chargeable therewith or any of them or any part thereof to enter and destrain for the same and the Distress and Distresses then and there found to detain keep sell and dispose of untill she shall be fully paid and Satisfied all such arrearages with all costs and charges in and about the taking keeping and Disposing of the above and in case the said Annuity or yearly Rent charge of Ten pounds or any part thereof shall be Behind and unpaid for the space of forty Days next over or after either of the said days of payment whereas the same ought to be paid as aforesaid that then and so often it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said Elizabeth into all and singular the said Messuages or Tenements Stables Gardens Malt house and premises aforesaid or any part thereof to enter and the Rents issues and profits thereof to receive and take untill she therewith and thereby or by the person or persons who shall be then Intitled tothe Immediate possession thereof be fully paid and satisfied the same and every part thereof and all the arrears thereof incurred before or that shall incur during such time as she shall Receive the Rents issues and profitts thereof or be intitled to receive the same by virture of such entry to be made as aforesaid together with her Costs Damages and expences laid out and sustained by Reason of Non payment thereof or any part thereof And to this further Intent and purpose that it shall and may be lawful to and for the said David Hamer and Thomas Hall or the survivor of them or the Heirs or Assigns of such survivor subject to the said Annuity of Ten pounds to raise any sum of sums of money by Mortgage in [...] or for years sale or otherwise of the said pereimses so devised to the said David Hamer and Thomas Hall that be necessary to Assist my son Christopher Brees Hall to compleat the purchase made by me from Athelustan Hamer of Glamhafren in the parish of Penstrowed and said County of Montgomery Esquire for all that dwelling House Malt house, Tan House Tan yard Garden and Stables with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and now in my occupation and from and subject thereto and to the said annuity to the said Elizabeth Hall then to the use and behoof of the said Christopher Brees Hall his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other use intent and purpose whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Hall the sum of three Hundred pounds to the paid him when he shall attain the ago of Twenty One years without Interest in the mean time if my said Son Christopher Brees Hall shall find and provide my said son Thomas Hall with Meat drink washing Lodging Cloaths and every other necessary untill my said son Thomas shall attain the age of Twenty One Years as aforesaid But in case my said son Thomas Hall shall chuse to live apart from his Brother then my will and desire is that my said son Christopher Brees Hall shall pay unto my said son Thomas Hall Interest for the said sum of Three Hundred Pounds after the rate of four pounds per centum per Annum untill he hall attain the age of Twenty One years and the same Become payable and I do hereby charge all my Real and Personal Estate except what I have above devised to the said David Hamer and Thomas Hall with the payment thereof I also give and bequeath unto my said son Thomas One Bed Bedstead and every Necessary thing Appurtenant thereto I also give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Hall all Interest and benefit I now have in the Lease of a certain Tenement or Lands called the Birches in the parish of Newtown aforesaid I also give and Bequeath unto my said Wife the sum of Twenty pounds to be paid her within six months after my decease, and I do hereby charge all my personal Estate with the payment thereof I also give and bequeath to her on Bed Bolster and every other necessary Appurtenant thereunto belonging And also the necessary and proper furniture for the furnishing one Room And I do hereby also give devise and bequeath unto my said son Christopher Brees Hall all the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal Estate whatsoever To have and to hold the same to the said Christopher Brees Hall his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Christopher Brees Hall his Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns for ever And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said David Hamer and Thomas Hall Joint Executors of this my last will and Testament hereby Revoking and making void all former and other Will and Wills by me heretofore made.
