Thomas Collop was baptised on 2nd May 1731 at Stotfold in Bedfordshire, son of Elizabeth Collop, formerly Tickle, and her husband John Collop.

On 30th March 1755, aged 23, Thomas married Ann Browning at Stotfold. He was described as a labourer at the time. They went on to have three children baptised at Stotfold between 1756 and 1772, although there was a sizeable gap between the second and third child, which may indicate that the family lived elsewhere for a time.

Thomas's mother died at Stotfold in 1769.

Ann died in 1775, being buried at Stotfold on 16th November 1775. Thomas survived her by five years.

Thomas appears to have been one of the witnesses to his nephew Thomas Moles' marriage at Stotfold in 1778 (Thomas Moles being Thomas's sister Ann's son). Thomas died at the age of 49, being buried at Stotfold on 15th December 1780.
