Ann Browning's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 30th March 1755, when she married a labourer called Thomas Collop at Stotfold in Bedfordshire. They went on to have three children baptised at Stotfold between 1756 and 1772, although there was a sizeable gap between the second and third child, which may indicate that the family lived elsewhere for a time. Ann died in 1775, being buried at Stotfold on 16th November 1775. Thomas survived her by five years. References
