link IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I THOMAS BAKER Sen I of Boston in the county of Suffolke in New England Blacksmith / being weake and infirme of body but of sound and pfect minde & / memory preised be God for the same AND KNOWING the uncertainty I of this present life and being desireous to settle that outward Estate ye / Lord hath Sent me Doe therefore make and ordaine this my Last / will and Testament in man nor and forme following THAT is to say / FlRST and Principally I commend my soule into ye hands of Almighty / God my Creatour hopeing to receive full pardon and remission of all my I Sins and Salvation through the alone merritts of Jesue Christ my / Redeemer and my Body to the Earth to be decently interred according / to the Discretion of Executors hereafter named. And as touching I such worldly estate the Lord hath lent me my meaning and will is the / Same shall be lmployed and bestowed as hereafter in and by this my will is / express hereby revoakeing renounceing and makeing null and void all I wills and Testaments by me heretofore made declaring and appointing / this to be my last will and Testament.
IMPS I will that all the debts that I Justly owe to any manner of / person or persons whatsoever shall be well and truely paid or ordained I to be paid in convenient Time next after my Decease by my Executors / and Satisfied. ITEM after my debts and funeral! expenses are paid / and satisfied, I Doe bequeath unto my beloved wife LEA / BAKER the use benefit and Improvement of all my Reall and psente / Estate whatsoever & wheresoevr for her comfortable Subsistance dureing / the terme of her natural life. ITEM att and after her decease / I doe hereby Give devise and bequeath All that my Mesnage or / Tenemt with all the land yards Gardens backsides houseing Shops / Ediffices Buildings Slaughter houses & fences standing thereon & thereunto / belonging in my owne Possession Scittuate in Boston aforesd Fronting / upon the Fore or high school Leading towardes Roxbury & lying betweene ye / housing and Land in the occupaacon of ye widdow Greenleafe and the land / that_ leads Downe towards Mr. Oliver’s Dock, which I formerly purchased / of Peter Oliver & others (since decd) by deed bearing date fourteenth / day of ffebruary Sixteen hundred & sixty. where in New England aforesd I Doe (after my wives decease) hereby Give and beque-/athe the same unto my Loveing son THOMAS BAKER of Boston aforesd / lronmonger and to my son JOHN BAKER and Daughter RACHELL /WALDRON and to their heires for ever in Equall thirds. / And whereas my self and son JOHN BAKER stands alone Engaged / unto the Estate of Habackhuck Glover deed. for payment of a / considerable sum me of mony, in Consideracon of asum of mony / many yeares past Taken up of him sd Glover deed., for the I only proper debt and attempt of my son THOMAS BAKER, who I received the originall sume so taken up. I Doe therefore I hereby ordain and appoint yt whersoever the same shall be / paid That my Son THOMAS doe make a full allowance / for the Same out of his part hereby bequeathed him. settlement of the estate of THOMAS BAKER, between George Waldron of Bristol, co. of Bristol, New England [now Rhode Island], blacksmith, and RACHEL his wife, only surviving children of THOMAS BAKER, blacksmith and LEAH his wife, now both dec'd; THOMAS BAKER of Baker, brazier, JOHN BAKER of Baker, merchant, Henry Bridgham of Boston, tanner, guardian to MARY BAKER, spinster, which said THOMAS, JOHN, and MARY are the three children of THOAMS BAKER dec'd., the eldest son of THOMAS BAKER and LEAH BAKER; whereas THOMAS BAKER and his wife LEAH, daughter of THOMAS CLARK, sometime of Boston. shopkeeper, dec'd., received property from her father THOMAS CLARK: (i} a true and perfect inventory be made and taken of whole estate real and personal of said THOMAS and LEAH BAKER, and show what they inherited from THOMAS CLARK (ii) debts from estate of THOMAS and LEAH be answered and paid; (iii) surplus and remainder of said THOMAS and LEAH be divided and allotted in four equal parts; (iv) that said George and RACHEL WALDRON have 1/4 part; (v) THOMAS BAKER. party to presents, have 1/4; (v1) JOHN BAKER party to presents to have 1/4; (vii) MARY BAKER to have 1/4; witnesses: John Mica, Thomas Maccarty; rec 10 Apr 1704.

link 25 Oct 1698 Leah Baker of Boston, widow and Nathaniel Byfield of Boston, merchant, whereas land purchased by Thomas Clark, Shopkeeper, Boston dec'd of Usal Wardell; did give grant to his daughter Elizabeth Stephens (afterwards Bligh) and unto the heirs of her body to be divided equally between his heirs, whereas the sd Elizabeth Stephens alias Bligh departed this life leaving no issue of her body.. the estate became the property of the sd Leah Baker and Deborah the wife of sd Nathaniel Byfield the two surviving children of the before named Thomas Clarke.
