Thomas Arnold was baptised on 15th October 1758 at Luton in Bedfordshire, son of Elizabeth Arnold, formerly Stokes, and her husband John Arnold. The family lived at the hamlet of Newmill End on the River Lea to the south of the town.

Thomas has yet to be traced after his baptism.
