Obituary - Thelma Allen LeBlanc

Thelma Lucille Sallier Allen LeBlanc, 75, of Lake Charles, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, in a local hospital.

A direct descendant of Charles Sallier, Mrs. LeBlanc was born May 20, 1932, in Lake Charles. She spent a number of years in Pleasant Hill, La., before returning to Lake Charles in 1968. While in Pleasant Hill, she was a member Blue Ridge Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and making quilts, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by her three sons, Kennie Allen and wife Marilyn of Pleasant Hill, La., Dick E. Allen and wife Lalla, and David J. Allen, all of Lake Charles; daughter, Betty Sittig of Lake Charles; stepdaughters, Annie Mae Tallman, Alberta Dunfee and Jo Anne Welch; brothers, Arsene “Bobby” Sallier of Westlake and Julian Charles “Buddy” Sallier of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren, Toni Lynn Cassia, Charles John Murphy, Jodie Lynn Allen, Jeremy Aud Allen, Lacey Marie Leone, Cody James Allen, Melissa Reneé Allen, Shawna Shyann Allen, Shanna Santana Allen and Brittany Kaylan Allen; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Samuel Allen; second husband, Sanders Henry LeBlanc; parents, Arselm and Lucille Sallier; sister, Dorothy Andrepont; and stepson, Sanders “Poochie” LeBlanc Jr.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Kelly Vigo will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-10 p.m. today, with a Scripture service at 7 p.m., and from 8 a.m. Thursday.
