Obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Marie Sallier Andrepont, 77, of Lake Charles died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, in her residence.

Mrs. Andrepont was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Lake Charles and had lived here all of her life. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Charles Sallier, the founder of Lake Charles. She was a former employee for Kress for seven years before working at Sel-Mart as the manager, department head and a buyer, where she retired after 14 years of service. Upon her retirement, Mrs. Andrepont was a landlord of a private apartment complex. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

Dot was a very caring mother and family member to all her family and friends. She influenced the lives of many who came in contact with her. She was loved by all and will be missed by everyone.

Mrs. Andrepont is survived by her daughters, Connie Marie Maine and companion William H. “Smitty” Smith of DeRidder, and Debbie Lynn Vickery and husband Tony of Maylene, Ala.; sons, Anthony J. “T-Joe” Andrepont and wife Cindy Schiro of Sulphur, and Robert Wayne Andrepont and wife Deanna Dean of Pelham, Ala.; sister, Thelma Louise LeBlanc of Lake Charles; brothers, Arsene “Bobby” Sallier of Westlake and Julian Charles “Buddy” Sallier of Lake Charles; sisters-in-law, Theresa Thibodeaux and Patricia Viator; and closest friend, Nita Theriot. She also is survived by 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; 23 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, P. J. Andrepont; parents, Arselm “Bud” Sallier Sr. and Lucille Marie Benoit Sallier; and grandson, Jake Wayne Foreman.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Charles McMillin will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, with a scripture service and rosary at 6 p.m. led by Deacon Dan Landry, and from 8 a.m. until the start of the service Tuesday.
