Utica Daily Press, 9 July 1962: MRS. ROGER VAN SLYKE Oneida-- Mrs. Sylvia J. VanSlyke, 26, wife of Roger VanSlyke, of 333 Lenox AV, formerly of Verona, died Saturday in Oneida City Hospital. She was born in Rome, daughter of Harold and Ada Collins O'Connor. She was graduated from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School. Mrs. Van Slyke was a member of the Verona Methodist Church. Besides her husband she leaves her mother, Mrs. Emerson Burley; a son, Roger Jr.; a daughter, Sheila; a half-brother, E. John Burley, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Collins, all of Oneida. The funeral will be... Wednesday from the Whitford Edkin Funeral Home with the Rev. Rae L. Brothers, pastor of Verona Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rathbunville Cemetery, Churchville.
