MARRIED: 1827 -- October 23, Susan, daughter of James Murdock, Jr.,married Joseph W. Allison. She was named as his wife in her father's willin 1825. A man at the Archives said that many times couples were marriedby the minister of the church, or just lived together until they couldget to town to be married by a Justice of the Peace, thereby making itlegal in the eyes of the law.
