LEGAL: 1819 -- December 3, James, Jr. deeded 150 acres on the waters ofthe Little River to his son, John, for $400. This was the land he boughtfrom Ann and David in 1816. J. R. Murdock was witness to the signatureand the signature was proved in court by Andrew Murdock's oath. J. R. andAndrew were James' sons (Orange County, NC Deed Book 21, page 532). LEGAL: 1833 -- December 10, a Deed of Trust from John Murdock toAlexander Dixon, trustee, on the 150 acres on the Little River. This wasthe land deeded to John by his father in 1819. John owed his brother,Robert G. Murdock, $80.95. Robert was listed as being from RandolphCounty so he must have moved there after his father died (Orange County,NC Deed Book 25, page 391). LEGAL: 1850 -- August 19, John Murdock deeded 150 acres to AlexanderDickson for $450. This is the same land that John got a Deed of Trust onin 1833 (Orange County, NC Deed Book 34, page 75). |
