Susan was born on 3 Jan 1859 in Bath County, Kentucky, United States. Her parents were James Dale (1837-1927) and Mary Ann (Clow) Dale (1837-1903). ^[2][3] In 1860, she was 5 months old and lived in Bath County, Kentucky with her parents and her brother, John. ^[4] In 1870, she was 9 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with her father, mother, and 2 brothers.^[5] She married David Turley Duncan (abt.1848-1928) in 1875. ^[6]

Together they had at least four children.

• Charles Duncan (1885-1916) ^[9]
• Jennie Duncan (1888-1890). ^[10]

In 1880, she was 20 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with her husband, David. ^[11] In 1900, she was 40 years old and lived in Montgomery, Kentucky, with her husband, David, and 3 sons. ^[6] In 1909 She was listed in the record of Walter T. Duncan and Katie Craig, "Ohio, County Marriages, 1789-2016" ^[12] In 1910, she was 50 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with her husband, David, her son, Clay and her father. ^[13] In 1920, she was 59 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with her husband, David. ^[14] She passed away 9 Apr 1923 in Bath, Kentucky, United States from arteriosclerosis and stomach Cancer. She was laid to rest on the 11th in the Wilson Graveyard in Montgomery County, Kentucky. ^{[3] [15]}

Research notes

I changed her date on birth became the system keeps giving me an error between her hand her brother John. In the 1900 census John was listed as being born in Aug 1858 and his sister was listed as being born in Feb 1860. I think the birth error is from her having the wrong date on her death certificate. Dale-2823 18:51, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
