== Biography ==Clay was born 8 Mar 1885 in Montgomery County, Kentucky. ^{[1][2][3][4][5]} He was the son of David Duncan and Susan Dale. ^[1][2] In 1900, he was 14 years old and lived in Montgomery, Kentucky, with his father, mother, and 2 brothers. ^[1] In 1910, he was 25 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with his father, mother, and grandfather. ^[2] In 1920, he was 31 years old and lived in Harts, Kentucky, with his wife, Mary, and 2 daughters. ^[3] In 1940, he was 55 years old and lived in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, with his wife, May, and 2 daughters. ^[4] He was living in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, when he registered for the World War II draft in 1942 at the age of 57. ^[6] He passed away 4 Feb 1945 in Bath County, Kentucky. ^[5] He was laid to rest in machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Montgomery County, Kentucky, United States of America^[7]
