Tina Van Zyverden 11/21/21 ~ 8/29/06 Our beloved wife, mother, and Oma, Tina Van Zyverden, 84 years old, returned to her Heavenly Father's loving arms, August 29, 2006. She was born in Utrecht, Holland and immigrated to the United States with her husband, Leo and three children, Helena, Sjors, and Sytske in 1947 not knowing a word of English - It's been an adventure ever since. Two more children were born shortly after, Leonora and Katie. Her mother, Namkje, her sister, Fokje with her daughter, Helga came to America a few years later which brought her great joy. Being a milliner she continued sewing clothes for her children, making suits you would think a professional tailor made. She was cutting Leo's hair even at the age of 84. Her flowers brought cheer to anyone who entered her garden. Her children still marveled at her perfect posture and regal, stately, and elegant manner. Her son, Sjors said, "She was polished to the finish." Her gifts, talents and callings are too numerous to share but we would like to express how much she is loved and will be missed by those who knew her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brighton 2nd Ward, 2561 Bengal Blvd. (7640 South). Friends may call Friday, September 1, 2006 at the Cannon Mortuary 2460 East Bengal Blvd. from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 10:00-10:45 p.m. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South. The family wishes to thank Garden Terrace and The Wellington for their loving care for our mom and continued care for our dad.
