James M’Call of Braehead (1726-1803), Glasgow mercht, was son of Samuel M’Call; James marr in 1761 Sarah, dau of Thomas Reid and Elizabeth Boyd (Old Glasgow Exhibition). James and Sarah had 4 sons and 8 daughters (Hardy Bertram McCall). See Burke’s Landed Gentry.
