James McCALL was son of Samuel McCall (1681 Kirkconnell, Dumfriess.-1759) and Margaret Adam, who marr 20jan1714 (Memoirs of my ancestors by Hardy Bertram McCall). Samuel M'Call (1681 Dumfriess.-1759 Glasgow) marr (2nd wife) Margaret, dau of John Adam, Glasgow mercht, and Mary Wood (Old Glasgow Exhibition, with more details).

Samuel McCall was a “Virginia Lord” (Old Country houses of the old Glasgow gentry). James McCall (12jan1719 Breahead, Glasgow-20mar1803) married 1761 Sarah REID (A. Duncan, rootsweb); birthdate incorrect. James McCall, esq. (1726) d. 22mar1803 and Sarah Reid McCall (1740) d. 27nov1822; both bur at Glasgow Cathedral (familysearch). James “Mcalla” marr Sarah REID 27jan1761 at Stevenston, Ayrs. (familysearch); Stevenston included Saltcoats.

James M’Call of Braehead (1726-1803), Glasgow mercht, was son of Samuel M’Call; James marr in 1761 Sarah, dau of Thomas Reid and Elizabeth Boyd (Old Glasgow Exhibition).
