Sarah was most likely born to Thomas and Ann on 29th January 1803. It is difficult to be absolutely sure as her recorded age varies on the censuses such that she may have actually been born between 1802 and 1811. The fact she was born in St Margaret's parish is more certain recorded on the 1851 census. She was probably illiterate as she was unable to sign her marriage certificate. After Thomas died in 1851 she moved back to Leicester and is recorded in St George's parish in 1861. Without Thomas to support her she was working as a 'seamer of stockings, Susanna and Alice were in the household with Alice's one year old daughter Eliza. Sarah passed way somewhere between 1861 and 1871 most likely though I have no death index in Leicester.
