- ↑ Sarah Ann, the eldest of Solomon and Louisa's children, lived all her life at the Agla home in Arner, but she had her own land with fruit trees, chickens and gesse. She was the church organist at the Zion Church, teaching muxic to a large class. She was also the librian and secretary-treasurer for the Sunday School, and taught the Young Men's Bible Class. At the age of 17 she became postmaster of the Arner Post Office, a post she held for 15 years. Her working area at the post office was unheated and the place was rather ramshackle whcih resulted in a lot of criticism. This was concerned with the effect on clients, not Sarah's comfort. She was an accomplished needlewoman and weas well known throughout Ontario, where her work always won the grand prize at exhibitions. Sarah was also a lover of flowers ad she started her own nursery. Her flowers were in great demand by florists, and she shipped them all over central Canada to Toronto, Brampton, Montreal, etc. Sarah never married.
