Rules out Samuel Richardson, s/o Stephen Richardson and Lydia Gilbert, as husband of Sarah Stanton on grounds of death in 1701. Son of Lemuel "was only remaining Samuel in Stonington". Will of Lemuel Richardson, dated 2 May 1713, mentions wife Mehitable, children Samuel, Lemuel and Mehitable. Daughter Mehitable married Allen Willey, and they sold 28 Mar 1731/2 right to land of father and brother Lemuel's land to "our brother Samuel Richardson". Samuel Richardson "late of Haddam" resolved rights to grandfather Stephen's land in deeds dated 21 Jul 1732. "These deeds may have been in preparation for Samuel's marriage" [more likely a result of him coming of age.] Middletown Probate File 2734 shows inventory of Samuel dated 22 Nov 1754 and names widow Sarah.
