    ALLEN, b. at E. H., Sept. 29, 1700 ; bap. at HL., Dec. 22, 1745; m. at E. H., May 7, 1730, Mehitabel, dau. of Lemuel and Mehitabel (Chapman) Richardson, who was b. at Stonington, Conn., Sept. 13, 1709, and bap. there March 26, 1710. She was 4th in descent from Amos Richardson of Boston, 1645, "a merchant tailor, ship-builder, and landed proprietor, a man of great respectability, enterprise, and good faith," through Stephen and Samuel. They settled at E. H., where he d. Feb. 7, 1780, according to his gravestone, in his 80th year, while the Holmes record says Feb. 9. She d. at E. H., May 5, 1778, in her 69th year. His estate was distributed by his children, Jan. 27, 1780. Those who took part in it were Allen Willey of Lempster, N. H., John Willey of E. H., Christopher Comstock and Ann his wife of Chatham, Conn., John Warner, 2d, and Mehitabel his wife of E. H., Lemuel Willey of E. H., Judah Willey of Wilbraham, Mass., Abraham Willey of E. H., Lemuel Griffing and Lydia his wife of E. H. The will was dated Oct. 31, 1765, and proved March 10, 1782. He was bap. at HL [Hadlyme]., Dec. 22, 1745, and, with his wife, joined the ch. there on that day.
