29 Mar 1781: Will of "Samuel Read of Westford" names Hannah Read my beloved wife, son Thomas Read, son Silas Read, son William Read, sons Peter and Samuel, daughters Abigail Read, Olive Read, Bridget Read, Jean Read and Molly Read. Son Silas Read and Zaccheus Wright executors. 19 Apr 1781: Agreement, "that Thomas Read & William Read who have entered an exception in the Probate Office against a certain instrument ... agree to withdraw their exception ... to quit all claime to the estate of the said Deceased provided that Hannah Read the widow & Silas Reed the son of the Decease [shall give them a cow with calf] that Oliver read a son in law of the Deceased [shall give them a heifer]." Signed by Thomas Read, William Read, Hannah Read, Silas Read, Oliver Read. 19 Apr 1781: will proved 12 Sep 1781: personal inventory 1 Nov 1781: real inventory 12 Dec 1781: Zaccheus Wright made oath that the estate was insolvent.
