    Case 18533 "John Reed 1767".

    10 Mar 1767: Jean Read: "Where as my Late Husband John Read of Westford Died and Left an Estate Intestate and I by Reason of old age cant Well adm'r on the same I Do therefore pray your Honour to grant administration to my son Samuel Read".
    31 Mar 1767: Bond of "Samuel Reed Gent'm" o administer "Estate of John Reed late of Westford".
    Inventory 8 May 1767. Swore to 9 Feb 1768 by Sam'l Reed.
    2 Oct 1769: Distribution to "Samuel Reed Second Son of John Reed late of Westford ... two third parts ... the other third part being set off to the said Intestate's widow ... [Samuel] to pay his Brother William, & to his Sisters, Mary, Jane, Sarah, Betty, Hannah & Luce ... except John the (eldest Son) who having had his share advanced to him by his father in his lifetime, I therefore excluded from this Division."
    27 Apr 1772: Bond of Samuel Read Gentleman regarding settlement of "that part of the real estate of mr John Read late of Westford ... which was set off to his widow Jane (since dece'd) for her dower", he to pay William, Mary, Jane, Betty & Lucy, and to the heirs of his sister Sarah Dece'd and to the heirs of his sister Hannah Deceas'd.
