  3.   Source:Reed, Jacob Whittemore. History of the Reed Family in Europe and America add a son Jacob to this family, but he is not mentioned in the probate files of the father, and his birth conflicts with the other children. So this appears to be an error.

    Reed also shows the son Thomas m. Olive Howard. The Thomas Reed who m. Olive Howard d. in Townsend in 1772, age 51, so born about 1721, while John and Jane's son was recorded as born in 1713 and his death was recorded in 1728. Further, the Thomas who m. Olive Howard was alive in 1769, so should have been listed in the probate files if he had been part of this family, but no son named Thomas was mentioned. Source:Farwell, John Dennis. Farwell Family : A History of Henry Farwell and His Wife Olive (Welby) Farwell of Boston, England, and Concord and Chelmsford,, p. 97, says that a deed shows the Thomas who m. Olive Howard was actually the son of Thomas Reed and Sarah Fletcher.
